Caljan Donates Electrical Engineering Components for Education Purposes
Caljan has donated a range of electrical engineering components to Liepāja State Technical School and RTU Liepāja Academy. As a company with a strong presence in Liepāja, we’re committed to empowering the next generation of engineers and strengthening ties with our local education institutions.
"Innovative approaches and sustainability are just as important in education as in business. We give a second life to high-quality electrical components – some of them even brand new – that no longer meet the particular needs of our company, by donating them to education institutions. This is also our investment in the future of technical education in Liepāja," says Antons Merbahs, Environmental Engineer at SIA Caljan LSEZ.
This equipment provides students across various education programs a chance to work hands-on with systems and technologies that are actually used within the industry. In their lab work they will be able to work on real system analysis and testing, apply industrial hydraulics in practice, understand component functions, and analyze automation control circuits.
This opportunity to develop electrical safety and diagnostics skills is available to all students within any specialty that covers technologies like automation and control systems, electrical engineering and electronics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as industrial automation and electrical installations.
Caljan has been collaborating with the Liepāja State Technical School and RTU Liepāja Academy for several years already. Both sides say that the process has been rewarding, and so have the outcomes – including the fact that graduates have gone on to join the company’s team of engineers.
Such initiatives help students acquire valuable skills and knowledge, providing a great springboard into the job market – this opinion is shared by both company representatives and educational institutions.
